The Killing Moon - Echo & the Bunnymen

I think this song could be personally classified under nostalgia, but I'm not sure yet...

I would need something to remind me of a time in my childhood to know for sure...
All I know is this song makes me feel fucking amazing. It's such a surreal feeling.
It must have been my uncle, because through the ignorant haze of my father describing a conversation he had with him about the band, I can only ignore and connect the dots...

Under blue moon I saw you
So soon you'll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

In starlit nights I saw you
So cruelly you kissed me
Your lips a magic world
Your sky all hung with jewels
The killing moon
Will come too soon

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

Under blue moon I saw you
So soon you'll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

Bros:

I've taken into accord the fact that I was born a century later than idealistically preferred. But in this world polluted with masculine facade, is it still acceptable for a male to believe in beauty?

Is that too feminine for you guys?

If not, you can fucking suck it.

..I need out of this town.

This is why I love Stereogum:

Stereogum Presents...Enjoyed: A Tribute to Bjork's Post.

When I heard about this I got very excited, It's a nice and interesting listen. Although the despondent crooning of Xiu Xiu is the last thing I'd ever expect to hear in a Bjork cover, it grows on you and eventually becomes quite tasteful. I heavily enjoyed the Atlas sound rendition of Headphones. But neither of these compare to Ed Droste (Grizzly Bear!) and Final Fantasy's cover of Possibly Maybe. The string arrangements are simply amazing.

This is definitely better than the OK Computer Tribute album.

Destroyer - Destroyer's Rubies

Introduced by Christos' sister Rachel, this album has slowly become one of my favorite records ever made. At first Bajar's voice was a bit much, but then unveiled a quirky personality underneath that really stuck with me. The combination of piano and acoustic guitar instrumentation has never worked so well before. I've spent so many jogs on the beach accompanied by this creating memories I will never forget. It is also one of the most artistic albums I listen to. Not weird like Radiohead artistic, but rather along the lines of indie bands like Pinback or The Arcade Fire. Excellent

9.1/10
